Onward through the fog...

Deceptively flat looking race course, but it had a bit of a lump on the backside. After a zig-zag loop through the open level fields, the course swooped upward to a double barrier set at the base of a long hill. With hindsight, it would have been tactically smarter to mimic the B's and A's, all of whom remounted and stomped themselves back into pedal driven motion, rather than relying upon the slowing hoofbeats of the lessers (like myself...). But, it's still a learning experience, and you don't get to see the others ride until you are done.
Ended up running a lot further than I imagined I would, and suffered pretty good.

Got nipped by the leader about 400 yards from the finish -- Drat!

But, that also meant I didn't have to do another lap.... Oh that tricky, cognitive dissonance.
