Tuesday Nov 14th- Dirty Haiku's Strike BACK! That's right the good
folks at SlamMN have decided the Twin Cities need another Dirty Haiku
battle! So let's get raunchy 5-7-5 style! Hot Possum! (or Opossum if
you're nasty) The Dirty Haiku round will be a bonus round in addition
to the regular slam you can sign up for one, both or just sit back
and watch the filth fly...

THERE'S MORE this time we bring you the Twin Cities own
writer/performer Charlie Bethel! You might have seen Charlie in this
year's Fringe Festival Hit "Sin Cities Seven" or any other number of
events throughout town he's been everywhere and done it all and
SlamMN is tickled pink to have him. Last Chance to qualify for Semi-
finals in December!

Dec 11th- Some of your Favorite Twin cities Slammers Will be heading
south to a little Burg called LaCrosse WI. Why? To Slam the Pants off
some Milwaukee Poets ( or to have our pants slammed off either way
it'll be fun)! We'll be hanging out at the Bodega Brew Pub in
Downtown LaCrosse at 7:30... more details in next Months letter

Dec 12th-- This is the semi-final Slam featuring "Dem Cats" a spoken
word double threat from Milwaukee. The Semi-final bout winner will
represent us at the International World Poetry Slam in Vancouver

I am proud to announce the publication of Outspoken - How to Improve
Writing and Speaking Skills Through Poetry Performance. By Sara
Holbrook and Michael Salinger
This book contains writing and performance exercises for use in the
middle and high school classroom and also contains a DVD that
chronicles our work with the youth slam team at Cleveland's Playhouse
Square.

PSI Newsletter - Call for Articles and Ideas

Hey folks.
Back in July/August, the first issue of the 2nd volume of TEN: PSI
Newsletter was released.
We are now looking for ideas, articles, photos, etc. for the 2nd issue. We
have not yet set a scheduled release for the new issue, but we're gearing up
to get this sucker started very shortly.
If you have any ideas, post them here or send your ideas to
psi.news@gmail. com.
I'm thinking we should do at least one slammaster spotlight and no idea what
else to do there. So get us some ideas so we can keep this thing going!

Cynthia French has retired her role as the Slam Master for SlamMN! after 6 years of service to the Twin Cities spoken word community in order to dedicate her time to the MN Rollergirls Roller Derby. This summer, Cynthia made it through the try-out process and is in boot camp with the roller girls, working hard before the team draft.
