  • FamilySearch: Provided by the LDS church. 1880 US census, 1881 UK and Canadian census, US Social Security Death Index, extensive pedigree collection, Vital Records Index for Mexico and Scandinavia.

  • FreeUKGEN: Volunteer effort to transcribe UK data. Civil Registration index of births, marriages and deaths for England and Wales (1837-1983), UK Census data (1841-1891), and Parish registers.

  • IreAtlas Townland Database:  this database allows you to find locations of Irish townlands and civil parishes. 

  • Library and Archives Canada: Census Images, military records, maps, and land grant information.

  • Irish Ancestors:  This website provides an extensive collection of background information and maps, much of which is free. A fees are charged for searching some of the databases.

  • Irish Family History Foundation: The Irish Family History Foundation is the coordinating body for a network of government approved genealogical research centers in the Republic of Ireland (Eire) and in Northern Ireland which have computerized tens of millions of Irish ancestral records of different types.  Searches are free but a fee must be paid to view record details.

  • New England Ancestors:  Founded in 1845, New England Historic Genealogical Society is the oldest and most respected nonprofit genealogical organization in the country.  Their extensive set of databases are available to members for online searching.

  • Y-search: Sponsored by FamilyTree DNA, this database allows individuals that have tested their y-DNA with different companies to make their results available for comparison

  • Sorenson Medical Genetics Foundation: The Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to building the world's foremost collection of DNA and corresponding genealogical information.

  • YHRD database: This database is mainly intended for forensic purposes.  It is interactive and allows the user the search for Y-STR haplotypes in various formats and within specified metapopulations.

  • MitoSearch: Sponsored by FamilyTree DNA, this database allows individuals that have tested their mitochondrial DNA with different companies to make their results available for comparison
