In 1989 as my family and I were
preparing to depart for The Netherlands my father asked me, "Just,
where is The Netherlands?"
"Right across the North Sea from England, dad," I replied.
"Oh," he paused, "and just where is
England?"
Some of the places we have visited
have been replaced by newer versions. East and West Germany and Berlin are reunited, and
Hong Kong has returned to Chinese control.
The areas in red represent countries and city/states where we have lived or
