A Saturday hike up Mount Diablo, 3849 feet elevation, November 16th, 2002

Mount Diablo has become part of my regular exercise routine. I rarely go more than two weeks without hiking the 6 mile trail from the South Gate to the summit. It's about a 3000 foot elevation gain from the trailhead, and takes about 2 hours up and another 2 hours back, and the views are gorgeous- on a clear day, you can see to the Golden Gate Bridge in the west, and across the Central Valley to the Sierras in the east.
