![]() Professional: I'm a consultant and contract programmer. I currently work in Microsoft Accss, Visual Basic, Delphi and C++Builder for the Windows environment. I am studying Java, Javascript, PERL and ASP in order to become a Certified Internet Webmaster in Application Development and E-Commerce. I have written one programming book, "Learn Graphics File Programming with Delphi 3," which was published by Wordware publishing, in 1999. I have plans to write two more programming books, on archiving and compression as well as developing custom accounting software sometime during the next two years. However, my current professional writing projects are for photographers and D-I-Y woodworkers who wish to build a large-format view camera. My first book, "Designing and Building Custom Bellows for Cameras," is about halfway completed and I should be releasing it by April, 2000. The second book, "Designing and Building Custom Large-Format View Cameras," will not be finihsed until September-October, 2000. I hope to also have a good start on a third book, "Designing and Building Custom 35mm and 6cm Panoramic Cameras," by then with a projected completion around November, 2000. Along the way I found two OLD books on Daguerreotype photography that I hope to reprint and make available through the website for around $14.95 each.
![]() Personal: I was born June 4, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio. I currently live in the Sacramento, California area. I am interested in reading and writing science fiction and fantasy novels, although I will also read techno-thrillers, war novels and sea novels set in the 1800's such as the Horatio Hornblower series. My taste in movies is much wider ranging. I will watch anything from sci-fi to romance, comedies, thrillers, human drama and even the occasional horror flick. I'd rate 'Citizen Kane', 'Star Wars', 'Sleepless in Seattle', 'The Seven Samurai', 'Ordinary People', and 'Terminator' as some of my favorite movies, but I've been known to watch such stuff as 'Attack of the Killer Tomatos' and 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' as well as all the Disney cartoon feature films. Currently I like to take scenic and nature photographs in 35mm, 6x6cm and 4x5 inch large format. I'm working on developing a rational Zone System approach for Fuji Velvia/Sensia/Astia/Provia film and I've just about figured out how to previsualize the effects of different filters on the Kodak EIR, infra-red Ektachrome film. These may lead to how-to articles. I am a rabid, conservative Libertarian and a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Mormons. |
