About Dadsdish.com
Dad's Dish was created and is ran by Darrin Vindiola Sr.  The site primarily focuses on reviews, news, and nostalgia encompassing all kinds of food and drink.  This site is not affiliated with any particular company, nor are we paid or reimbursed in any way for positive reviews.   This site is simply driven by my love of food, particularly that of the fast food nature.

Frequently asked questions..

Who are you?
My name is Darrin.  I'm a happily married father of three, and food is my passion.  From Sushi to Burgers, I love all kinds of food!  I guess you can say that I'm an equal opportunity eater.  While my site may lean a bit more towards the fast food and junk food spectrums, it will also feature a broad array of reviews, news, and nostalgia about all kinds of food and drink.

Are you a food critic or what?
No, not by a long shot.  But who knows.. maybe I'm a critic in my own right.  I've gotten a reputation over the years among friends and workmates for knowing good food.  My mother was a cook and caterer, my grandmother ran her own restaurant in California during the 50's, and I grew up eating my fathers masterpieces that he would create when he was home on the weekends.  Anyone who knows me, can vouch that I always jump at the opportunity to talk about food every chance I get.

Why did you build this site?
Quite simply.. I love to eat, and I love to write.  I also like to push my creativity, so a web-site seemed like a great way to incorporate all of these things into a fun hobby.  I also dig the idea that it can be used as tool, and source of entertainment for others.

Are you a writer?
I love to write, but other than some English classes during my very brief stint at college, I have no formal training.  That's not to say that someday I won't continue working towards an English degree.  Until then I'll keep daydreaming about writing professionally, while honing my writing skills here at Dad's Dish.

How do you not weigh 500 pounds?
I can't begin to tell you how many times a month I get asked this question!  In retrospect, I guess the site doesn't do me any favors as far as my perceived eating habits go.  But trust me, I don't eat like this all of the time.  I usually have at least two square meals a day, but when the weekend comes.. all bets are off!  It's funny, usually visitors that read a few of my articles develop a preconceived notion of what I look like.  It's only after they see a picture of me somewhere on the site that they drop me an e-mail to say something like, "With the way that you eat.. I thought you'd be huge!" or, "How the heck do keep from gaining weight?"  As far as my weight goes.. Let's just say I'm closer to 200 pounds than 300 pounds.  Although.. as I get older, it gets harder and harder every year to keep it that way!  I workout and try to stay active, but as I approach 40, I can see that the old metabolism is starting to slow down.  So during my trek to mid life, don't be surprised to see donut and potato chip reviews occasionally replaced with the odd protein bar or bran cereal article!
