The Great Word List Collection

I have worked very hard for a long time to create this massive collection of words and information.  I began creating this collection while I was learning Medical Transcription simply for my own use.  I shared it with a friend who raved about how wonderful it was and how useful it was to her.  Based on her reaction and how useful it is to me on a daily basis, I decided to make this available to others.  I am constantly looking for ways to increase productivity in order to save time and make more money as a Medical Transcriptionist.  I believe this is, by far, my most useful tool for Medical Transcriptionist - both new and experienced!

After deciding to make this available to others, my next mission was to make it user-friendly, and then to make it aesthetically pleasing.  This goal has been accomplished!

I have created this in a Microsoft Excel Workbook with multiple worksheets to sort each word list.  In eah worksheet, the words are arranged alphabetically and arranged in three columns.  Each sheet is searchable by using the “Find” tool, which means you can search alphabetically, or you can do a search for any part of the word.  For example, you are transcribing an Oncology report and you hear a word that you know begins with ‘platinum’.  Simply click on “Find” or hit CTRL+F, and type in platinum.  You will see all of the words beginning with platinum by hitting enter to find the next word each time.  This is much faster than looking through books, and even faster than searching on the web!!

As stated above, you will receive an Excel document that contains 14 Word Lists with a total of over 12,000 words!  In addition, you will receive two bonus lists showing ligaments, tendons, and muscles throughout the body.  Each of these bonus lists will show the Latin name, English name, and the articulation, insertion, and the action.  (One of the photos below shows an example of this.)
