He grew to manhood in the Verden (Grady County), Oklahoma area. The family homestead was located six miles north, two miles west, and two miles north of Verden. His brother-in-law Bill McComas (husband of the late Bernice Talkington McComas) now own and is living in the completely remodeled house that Sam Talkington originally built in 1912.

Norman attended Hill Business College in Oklahoma City and married Ethel Zipse in 1927.

To this union was born Joe Ed on June 21, 1931 and Norman Dale on June 26, 1933.

He once managed the local cotton gin in Verden and a farm equipment company in Anadarko (Caddo County), Oklahoma.

In 1947 he built and operated Talkington Motors in Anadarko. This was a Dodge-Plymouth automobile sales and service agency.

He sold this business in 1951 and moved to a 100-acre farm on the south edge of Stillwater (Payne County), Oklahoma.

Here he raised cattle, sheep, and broiler chickens until his sudden death on March 14, 1956 of a heart attack at the age of 54.

He is buried in the family plot in Fairlawn Cemetery , north of Chickasha,(Grady County) Oklahoma.

Sam Talkington was born on a farm near Corning (Adams County), Iowa to Lafayette Talkington and Mariah Baldwin on December 5, 1877.

He married Millie on September 11, 1900 in Chandler (Lincoln County), Oklahoma.

Mariah died in childbirth in 1885 and is buried with her infant son in the Sunset Cemetery in Manhatton (Riley County), Kansas. Sam died on January 8, 1970 in Chickasha, Oklahoma and is also buried in Fairlawn Cemetery.

Delude family was from Canada

Millie Delude was born on July 10, 1883 on a farm near Clyde (Cloud County), Kansas to Noah Delude and Amelia Fountain. She died on November 7, 1967 in Verden, Oklahoma and is buried next to Sam in Fairlawn Cemetery.

Noah was born in 1843 of Canadian parents, maybe in Kankakee (Kankakee County), Illinois. He spent his early childhood in the Kankakee area. On March 31, 1868, at the age of 25, he married Amelia Fountain, age 21. Noah died at St. Mary's (Pottawatomie County), Kansas in 1896. Amelia was born in New York on May 17, 1852 and died in Kankakee on May 15, 1917 at the age of 65. Her parents were both born in the state of New York.

Talkingtons were from Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and England

Lafayette was born in Jennings County, Indiana to Peter Nichols Talkington and Sarah Ely on May 27, 1850. He died on November 17, 1938 and is buried in the Verden Cemetery along side his second wife Jennie Seapy, who he married in 1889.

Peter was born in Butler County, Ohio to John Talkington, Jr. and Mary Helmick on March 20, 1828. He married Sarah Mariah Ely in 1849. She was the daughter of Samuel and Catherine Ely. She died in April of 1858 and then Peter married Martha Jane Childs on August 27, 1861. Martha was born on October 24, 1843 and died on June 14, 1914 and is buried in Confidence (Wayne County), Iowa.

John Talkington, Jr. was born in 1780 in Chester County, Pennsylvania to John Talkington, Sr. and Sarah Thatcher. John Sr was born in England around the Liverpool area. Family tradition claims that Sarah Thatcher was directly connected with John Alden of Mayflower fame. At this point, it is still only an unconfirmed rumor.
