| Our Goals |
|
|
1. Really good social dancing;
2. Making the journey to mastery fun ! |
Whether you are interested
in taking group classes, private lessons, or a combination, The Danceasy has a program
that allows you to learn at your own pace. Private lessons are arranged by appointment
with individual teachers, who set their own fees.
Sundays: The
Beginners' Sampler, 7-8:30 pm. On Sundays you can drop in to
sample 12 of the dances we teach. The most popular partner dances are included in
our Sunday samplers. Our intent is to expose students to the dances, their music, a bit of
their history, and basic footwork and partnering. [See the monthly calendar for dances taught.]
Did you
see a dance or two you just loved?
It's time to learn more in your special dances!
The
cornerstone of The Danceasy's group learning program is the series. Please enroll for series at the beginning of
the month.
Tuesdays: The
American Ballroom/Latin Series,
Parts 1 & 2. [Specific dances are listed on the
chart below]
7-8:15 pm:
Beginning level. We teach one dance all month, building on the knowledge of prior weeks. All
dances in this series are taught for at least two consecutive months, and some continue
for three, four, and up to
five months.
8:15-9:30 pm: Next level, bronze 2. Your class will progress as a group in
the dance you began the previous month. OR you can wait to take the second month
until you feel comfortable at the first month's level in a number of dances. It's your choice.
Wednesdays: The
American Ballroom/Latin Series, Part 3.
7-8:15 pm: On to the next level, bronze 3. This time slot is also
reserved for introducing Bolero, which is a more advanced dance at the beginning
level, and once a year for a month of advanced West Coast Swing. [See the chart below.]
Mondays: The
Ballroom/Latin Series, Part 4 and Silver.
7-8:15 pm: Bronze 4 in Waltz and Fox Trot, plus Quickstep,
Viennese Waltz, Silver Rumba and more Bolero.
8:15-9:30 pm: Silver Segue is our newest series, intended to prepare your
bodies and legs for the challenges of silver level American style Waltz and Fox Trot.
Also included in this time slot are silver Cha Cha Cha, Waltz, Fox Trot, Tango, and
more Bolero.
Silver level classes are also numbered 1-4. They are not held
in consecutive months, so they take two years to complete. See the progressive
series chart below.
Except for
Quickstep, International style dances are taught in private lessons or at special
workshops which will appear in the calendar.
Wednesdays: The
Nightclub Series.
8:15-9:30 pm: These are dances commonly known as
"club" dances. You can take one, two or three months of your favorite dances,
with West Coast Swing available for four months. See the chart below.
Fridays: The Salsa
Series.
7-8 pm: Up to two months of steady progress in this very popular
dance! The class includes Salsa dancing at 9 pm. Check the chart below
for your starting level. |
