About Us

Really, what can we say about ourselves... This page is owned by Melissa and Scott.  By now, you should at least know our names!  We are both 1997 graduates of Michigan Technological University.  Melissa graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering and Scott graduated with honors in Mechanical Design Engineering Technology.   If you don't know where MTU is, don't feel bad. You aren't missing anything!! It is located in Michigan's U.P.  I know we don't miss it!

We moved from Houghton to the suburbs of Detroit in 1997, and have been here ever since.  We spend most of our time between our house in Rochester Hills, our families homes in the Bay City, Michigan regions, and traveling for Scott's job.  We got married on December 5, 1998 in Bay City.  Below is a picture from the wedding.  Next to that, is a recent picture of Scott with his saxophone.  We took this just to prove that it exists.  It's like Santa Claus, people have heard him talk about it, but never actually SEEN it!

We also have 3 cats, Sam (orange tabby), Nuku (big pain in butt), and the newest addition, Toby (little pain in butt).  Sam is a yooper cat.   He was born in June, 1995 somewhere in the U.P.   Just don't ever expect to see him.  He is terrified of all people other than us, Melissa's Grandmother, Pablo (freaky Mexican), and Stephanie (crazy Californian).  Strange, considering he is 25 pounds, and has the strength of a tiger!  He is actually very loving, and seems to be addicted to fish food and fresh running water.  He doesn't like to drink out of a bowl like the others, he jumps into a bathroom sink and cries until someone turns the water on for him.  He takes a drink, and then leaves.

Nuku was born in March, 1997.We adopted him in March 1998 to keep Sam out of trouble.  He is the exact opposite of Sam.  He loves people, and can't get enough attention from strangers.  He is a slightly smaller cat (which means he is still huge), but he has a few problems.  The first of which is that he thinks he is a parrot.  If you pick him up, he won't stop squirming until he is perched on your shoulder.  This leads to his second problem.... He isn't coordinated like a cat.  Once he perches on your shoulder, he promptly falls to the ground, landing on anything other than his feet.

Toby was born on June 17, 2000.  We adopted him, or more accurately, he adopted us about 5 weeks later.  He looks like a miniature version of Sam.  For the longest time he was known as "The Kitten" because we couldn't decide what to name him.  We had quite a few people who wanted us to name him Mini Me because of how much he looks like Sam, and Scott wanted to name him Londo or Turd Ferguson.  He is very lucky I finally named him Toby one week when Scott was traveling out of town!  He looks a lot like a chipmunk because he likes to sit upright on his hind legs with his front paws off of the ground.

The three don't really fight.  They are usually too busy sleeping as you can see from the pictures below.

As you can probably tell from the rest of our site, we really like the musical group Depeche Mode.  We got to see the group 3 times on their Singles 86>98 tour.  Once in Cleveland where we had floor seats, and Melissa came to the realization that being 5 foot 8 inches is just not tall enough to have floor seats.  The second was in Detroit, where Melissa realized that the Palace is a really large stadium if you are sitting in the back.  The last time was in Chicago, where Melissa realized that the best seats go to people who purchase them at the last minute.  The Chicago show was the best show we attended, and the best experience because we were able to go hang out with members of the band at a bar after the show.  We didn't get back to Troy until 8:00 am on Thanksgiving morning.  Would we make that trip again??? Absolutely.  Would we get a hotel room and not drive back at 3:00 am???  Absolutely.

For dM's last tour, we took a bit of a road trip.  We saw them at the beginning of the tour when we traveled from Toronto to Philadelphia to see 9 shows.  Then, a bit later in the summer, we saw the San Antonio and Dallas shows (front row for S.A.).  Finally, in August, we traveled to L.A. to see 4 more shows bringing our grand total up to 15 concerts.

We will be putting up more pictures of our families shortly, but this is it for now.  If you have any questions, or just want to chat, e-mail us at dangerous@missa.info.
