Suso's WarBirds Page

Welcome to my WarBirds Page. At this point, the page serves several different purposes. One of them is to provide gunsight files for the users of the Internet WW2 flight simulation game WarBirds.

You will find two interesting interviews with real WW2 pilots. One of them is my translation of an interview by journalist Dario Vecino of Enrique Entrena, a Spanish Air Force pilot who had an unusual experience during WW2, in which Spain was neutral. The other is an interview that I conducted myself with Phil Cohen, a Mustang pilot in WW2.

You will find photos of airplanes that I took at the United States Air Force Museum. Click on the thumbnails for larger versions of the photos.

You will find photos of Renault FT-17 tanks during the Rif War of the 1920's. Cipriano Briz, a distant relative of mine, fought in an armored unit in this little-known colonial war.

The best approach to a battle is surprise. Make your attack and disappear and start a new attack. Don't get engaged and make it a dogfight. Lt. General Adolph Galland, Luftwaffe.

When the enemy advances, we retreat; when the enemy camps, we harass; when the enemy tires, we attack; when the enemy retreats, we pursue. Mao Zedong, political leader and guerrilla warfare strategist.

If you're in a fair fight, you didn't plan it properly. Nick Lappos, Chief R&D Pilot, Sikorsky Aircraft.

The Devil is more wily from being old than from being the Devil. Old Spanish proverb.
