This fairly innocent-looking harlequin is amazed to find blackbirds in her baked dessert! This piece was inspired for my love of ravens, and the nursery rhyme that goes as follows:
"Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Oh wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king?
The king was in his counting house counting out his money,
The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey
The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose!"
Watermark does not appear on the original piece, or any prints/posters.
The 8" x 10" option is offered as hand embellished limited edition prints of 25.
