It's the start of a very strange process. If it ain't on the page . . .  it ain't on the stage.

First, ideas into words. Words on a page, one after another, flowing in a line and telling your story. Then the shooting starts. It gets, well, weird -- because they take this linear work, and tear it apart. Shoot out of order. Break up the continuity. Rearrange the sum of the whole into an apparent chaotic "shoot schedule."

But there's method in the process. The wildly disconnected footage gets reassembled by the editing process. Almost magically, that first written vision has become linear again! Not only does it flow once more, you know what? It's a new thing now. And better. It's your finished program.

If your budget and production needs require it, Jim Furrer can author your script. With his degree in Journalism and minors in English, History and Art, writing for visual media has been a part of Jim's professional life since college. Besides scripting, he's authored press releases, promotional brochures, trade publication articles, and web content. Inquire about seeing writing samples.
