The Red and the Black, 2

I was inspired by an image in the Sunday Times Magazine of a lovely black and white vase- I have tried to make that vase in the center bead of this piece and then included a number of other types of beads all with the red, black and white theme. Beautiful silver box clasp, all sterling fittings.

Sold 10/04 Silvered Ivory and Rose Gold

Silvered Ivory is so much fun to work with - the beads all end up looking like ancient artifacts. The rose gold has been treated in a reduction flame which sometimes makes it have a golden cast and sometimes a steely deep rose- All lovely with the silvered Ivory beads; Karen Hill Tribe silver dragonflys and other beads along with some African bone and Balinese spacers complete the necklace.

This necklace was designed for an architect friend of mine who came to my studio and instead of ending up with another of the polka dot themed necklaces she picked a whole series of bright orange, nile green and cobalt blue beads - paired with the African water buffalo polka dot beads. The closure is a rare earth magnet encased in glass - incredibly easy to put on - but will not let go intil you want it to.
