Camera: Vesta 675-SC1 web-cam with Mogg f/6.3 focal reducer
Exposure: One second integration, Gain = 50%
Telescope: Meade 10" LX200 f/10
Processing: Used K3CCDTools to capture AVI, subtract darkframe, and export BMP files. Performed histogram stretch on all frames in Photoshop and used IrfanView to batch convert BMP files to GIF. Finally, used Unfreez to build GIF animation.
Comments: This recording was a collaboration with Steve Barkes and Richard Jones. The asteroid streaked past the Earth at a little over a lunar orbit radius and brightened to about Mag 9.8 at closest approach before heading on toward the Sun. Two stars are also visible in the animation.© Dave Dockery 2002
