Heart Neb


Object: The Heart Nebula - IC1805
Date: 12/18/08 and 01/17/09
Location: My backyard (Ha) and ASLC dark sky site near Upham, NM (RGB)
Cameras: SBIG 10XE using a William Optics SD66 APO at f/4.7 for H-alpha data and a modified Canon 350XT DSLR using TeleVue 85mm refractor @ f/5.6 for color data
Mount/Guiding: G11, SBIG 10XE internal guide chip and DSI/PHD combo for DSLR
Exposure:  Ha: 6x10min binned 1x1, RGB: 12x5min @ ISO 800
Processing: H-alpha frame processed in CCDSoft, RGB processed in ImagesPlus and seperated into individual channels. Ha frame aligned to red channel in Registar and blended in Photoshop. FInal Ha+RGB processing in Photoshop.
Comments: This beautiful heart shaped structure is an emission nebula that spans some 200 light-years and is located in the constellation Cassiopeia.
