Comments: This beautiful region of nebulae is located in the constellation of Cygnus (The Swan.) The North America Nebula (NGC7000) is comprised of both red emission nebula and dark absorption nebula (the Gulf of Mexico part) which is blocking the starlight from behind. The smaller emission nebula to the right (IC5070) is called the Pelican Nebula. The crown of the pelican's head is at the top with the face and long beak on the upper left.
