Comments: This beautiful emission nebula region resides in the constellation Cygnus near the bright star Deneb. The Pelican (right) and North America Nebula (left) are separated by a dense cloud of dark dust that looks like empty space.  This star forming region lies at a distance of around 2,000 light-years and the Pelican Nebula spans about 30 light-years across.
