I live in Las Cruces, NM, which is a wonderful dark-sky area of the Southern U.S. I'm a member of both the Astronomical Society of Las Cruces and the Alamogordo Astronomy Club and I'm also a Project Astro volunteer, which means I get to help teach elementary school students about astronomy. We (ASLC) hosted star parties at a number of elementary and middle schools in Las Cruces over last few years and have brought the wonders of the universe to many excited children. We also teach an astronomy class at the Dona Anna Branch Community College and I participate as one of the instructors for the course.
I've been interested in Astronomy since childhood and finally bought my first serious telescope (C-8) in 1998. After a couple of years of observing, I was able to afford a 10" LX200 which enabled me to pursue my ultimate goal, astrophotography. I've learned much in the last few years and have expanded from 35mm film into webcam and digital camera imaging.
My biggest joy is my family and goofing around with my two sons. During the daylight hours I'm an aerospace engineer with a degree in Computer Science and a background in lasers, optics, and electronics.
