Comments: This is a composite of two wide field images capturing the center of our galaxy. The view of the galactic core from Earth is split by dust lanes visible as dark areas across the hub. Many red nebulae are visible along the central dust lane including M8 (center.) These are all stellar nurseries where stars are forming from the clouds of Hydrogen gas and dust.© Dave Dockery 2005
