Hello. Thank you for visiting. You have reached my tiny little speck on the Internet. This section is dedicated to my new hobby, which began Father's Day 2005 (thanks to my fiancée). And while it is a very fun hobby, it is also very practical, and carries with it much responsibility. My hobby is owning and using firearms, and every related subject, such as collecting, shooting, cleaning, researching, buying, selling, equipment, ammunition, targets, practice, meets, competitions, etc. etc. etc.
My name is David Mooney, and I've been interested in guns for a long time, probably ever since I had my first BB gun (pistol) when I was younger. I enjoyed shooting it, and I got pretty accurate with it. But, with school and working, it sort of went by the wayside. Later in life, after college, being married to a totally anti-gun wife didn't help, either. But that didn't stop me from reading magazine articles, looking at manufacturer's websites, and dreaming.
Long story short, after getting a divorce from said anti-gun wife (that wasn't the reason), I decided to pursue my dreams of owning a gun. I always knew that I wanted a 9mm. I think from all my reading and research this just stuck in my mind for some reason. I also wanted to get my Concealed Carry License eventually, so I could be ready to defend myself. I had lived in Philthydelphia, PA for 6 years, and have seen many things I'd rather forget. I also witnessed a shooting right outside my house in Wilmington (DE), and of course watched the news and read the paper. All these things made it clear that I should be prepared to defend myself and my loved ones if the situation arose.
Well, I hope you find the contents interesting, informative, entertaining, and helpful. I've been learning a LOT since I've started my new hobby. I hope to pass my knowledge on to others, especially the "newbies" just getting into this great hobby. I'm sure we can all remember how it felt when we first started. Be sure to check out my Range Reports, and the Data / Statistics pages. I will be adding new material and updating this site when I have the time. Feel free to check back often. I'll be here.
For those of you who are curious: I use a Minolta DiMAGE S414 4.0 mega pixel digital camera for all my photography, with a tripod, and the 10-second timer (for better stability). I have it set for 1600x1200 image size, fine quality. This way, I have the option of printing the pictures full size (16x22) OR reducing the size for on the web. I use Adobe PhotoShop 7.0 for all image editing. Please keep in mind that I retain the copyright on ALL the images found on this website. If you want to use one, be it for personal or commercial use, I'd appreciate a request (via email) first. I'm easy to get along with, but I've heard of and seen too many photographers' works being copied/downloaded and spread over the internet without their permission.
Enjoy your stay! Thanks again for visiting.
Dave
