Ithaca Gun Company Model 37 12 gauge shotgun

I inherited this shotgun from my grandfather in 2005 (Thanks Paps - I miss you!). I don't know much about it, nor have I ever even shot it (yet). It's a very nice gun. It appears to have been well-taken care of. It just needs a nice cleaning and some oil, and I think it'll be as good as new.

(No, the barrel isn't bent - it looks a little "off" because it was photographed in 2 pieces, then Photoshopped into one picture. )

I'm not sure what kind of wood it's made of.

According to Ithaca, my shotgun was made in 1949. for some reason, it's not as "old" as I thought it was. But that's ok.
