The Top Ten Reasons Nuclear Power Is Superior To Coal Power

10) Waste is isolated from the environment, rather than released to the environment.

9) No contribution to Acid Rain.

8) Far less contribution to lung cancer

7) Far less radiation is released to the environment.

6) No more half-mile-long coal trains criss-crossing the country.

5) Far less contribution to respiratory ailments.

4) Waste decays to inert matter in geologically small amounts of time, rather than being active forever.

3) In 4 decades of nuclear power generation in the USA, the worst accident ever was Three Mile Island. No one was injured or killed. Not bad - coal power killes tens of thousands of people every year in the USA.

2) A coal plant generates more waste in an hour than a nuclear plant does in a year.

1) Soon, we may want to start addressing our vast transportation needs via electric power. Nuclear has this capacity. Coal doesn't.

Note: The USA, myopically, continues to generate the bulk of its electrical energy via coal power, when nuclear is demonstrably superior in every measurable way. Most people are "afraid" of nuclear for some undefineable reason, and they never even think about the dangers of coal.
