African Cichlids

Before there was a Concrete Reef project. I set up my 120 gallon tank (which was given to me used) to keep African Cichlids. African cichlids are an old favorite of mine. This was the first time that I used a wet dry filter with these cichlids. There was not enough mechanical filtration with the wet dry alone. In order to keep the clarity and the water quality good. A canister filter was added. Water changes were done by vacuum the bottom to remove the excess detritus. The rock and plant structure provided enough cover for several fry to survive.
