The "1944 collection" (Any
hits welcomed - use your imagination!)
I was born in 1944 (World War 2) when no MLB cards were issued. So, unlike
most OBC'ers I cannot collect my birth year set. Therefore, I compensate
by
collecting anything remotely related to 1944 and baseball. Here is what I
have:
(1) Any card #44 (Steve Rittenberg got
me started on this). I currently HAVE:
Bowman 1948, 1955
Topps 19__: 53, 55-58, 60, 62-75, 77-80
Fleer 1960, 1961-62
Goudey 1933
Leaf 1960
O-Pee-Chee 1972
Post 1961
I am now listing only
vintage "44" cards. UV hits are still welcome, but I have over
20 so far
and it's getting tedious trying to track them.
(2) Photo postcard of the infield for the 1944 Browns
(3) 1944 NY Yankees Stamps Donald, Wensloff, Zuber
(4) 1970 and 1971 Fleer World Series cards for 1944
(5) 1959 Fleer Ted Williams #22 #23 (have 1944 date on front)
(6) The 1944 Play Ball set (printed 1983) - have entire set
(7) The 1944 Centennial Flour Seattle Rainiers (set complete)
(8) Team photo of the 1944 Seattle Rainiers
(9)ANY card (wink, wink) that has the number 1944 on it - I have
16 of these cards so far - no chance of duplicates, we are talking
serial numbers here.
(10) A book "1944 Major League Baseball - Facts, Figures, and Official
Rules"
(11) The 1944 Seattle Rainiers Roster (Schedule)
(12) 1944 World Series Program (reprint)
I need any one of the following GARY
MARTZ cards for my WABORN project:
1975 Omaha Royals Top Trophies #11
1976 Omaha Royals Top Trophies #12
1976 Venezualan League Stickers #203
