Headless Human Clones Rarities

August 2009 at NE 48th and Stanton Street Fair. The 2010 Fair was our next gig after Mountain Stomp.

The following tracks were never officially released on Headless Human Clones two official CD's. Several of the tracks are production quality, but were replaced by other versions. Some were intended for a future CD. Some were "singles". Others are live demo recordings, complete with forgotten lyrics, poorly improvised solos, and uncorrected tempo shifts. They are all free for you to download, but these songs will always be Paolo's.

The CD that was to be (2001-2004)

These tracks were recorded with the Get In Line line-up at my home studio. "Whatever" is a mix I completed May, 2011.

Taken 2000 at Galveston TX

Swingin'

This is what we called "The Infamous Slow Version", and featured Paolo on lead vocal.

Whatever

I only recently pulled this session from the archives and mixed it down. One of my favorite Paolo lyrics.

Presence of Venomous Marine Life

Big, thick (mostly) instrumental track.

BushBaby

Paolo wrote and sang lead on this track. Bass was played by Glenn Bury, Keyboards by Don Henson, and Guitars by me. This track was recorded at Mike Schmitt's studio, with Mike himself behind the board. He also played the drums.

Air America

Paolo really wanted this to be used as a promotional jingle for the now defunct Air America network. They never got back to us. Karma.

"Live and Simple" demos (2005)

These are live demos recorded at Donny V's studio. This session was the birth of the "Live and Simple" version of HHC. Over the years, this trio version of the band developed a really unique sound, perfect for really small rooms. A lot of times, we didn't need any amps or even a PA; we could easily sing over top of the instruments. The players are the "Live and Simple" line-up, with Don V. behind the board.

Take Off Your Clothes

Dream World

So close .... (2006)

These tracks almost made it onto the final version of the 140/90 CD. We mixed several versions of the "Surf City" remake, including the one below, which was ultimately deemed to be too much "punk" and not enough "surf". It really does rock, though, and features the 140/90 line-up. "Geo Logic" is the Live and Simple line-up (with lots of overdubs), featuring the spoken-word poetry by Christoph Lopez.
