Radio stations loved "Portable Radio" and were disappointed when it was pulled back as the first release from the X-Static album. There was an interesting and little known story that goes with that change!!! I was the National Singles Director for Hall & Oates management company at the time. As Hall & Oates fans I thought you might find that story interesting. The new Cd is their best in years!!! |

I have copies and there is an interesting story as to why it was pulled back and that Wait for Me didn't do well. From: NIAGARA FALLS,N.Y Time: 1998-03-27 20:16:00 Comments: What can I say ?Im here because I think that Daryl and John are GREAT!I cant remember a time when they werent first on my list of great artists,solo and together.Yes I love Daryls voice,everytime I hear him I still wonder how he sounds so great,I mean this guy is unbelievable!Thats what first made me actually sit and listen,that was years ago,about 22 or 23,and here it is 23 years later and im still watching and listening,Is it possible that he got even better?All I know is that when Im at a concert I end up wondering how he does it!And yeah hes good-lookin,love that smile,love the way he moves,and I love his sarcastic personality,its like if he thinks your doin something stupid he lets you know it.I just pick that up from watching him when hes interviewed,i think hed much rather sing than answer questions anyway.And John hes got a great personality,hes always interacting with the audience,while Daryls in his own world,(music)I think T-Bone and Charlie are great too,and when their all together its like being home,I guess after watching them after all theese years their like family,maybe that might sound off the wall,but thats the way i feel about them,theyve been in my house for years!Paul Pesco is great too,good addition to the band,although i miss seeing GE,and Mickey too.All I know is that I look forward to everything they do,and I cant wait to see them again,I just wish theyd get more recognition,but so do all the rest of us.Well Ive rambled enough,Im glad I found this site,if youd like to chat about them just E-Mail me,Im always ready to talk about them and share thoughts. |

Daryl has the most beautiful voice of any singer that has ever lived. Just saw them in Orlando in Nov. and he proved that fact once again. Like fine wine, he just gets better with age. met them after show in 1983, the highlight of my senior year of school! My friend and I were made fun of as our classmates were into Journey and Loverboy. We were nicknamed H and O, being blonde and tall I of course was Daryl. Yes, I know it is a cutesy teenage thing to do, but hey we were cutesy teens at the time. But now in our 30's we are still rocking with them. |
