Pawn 3 -- an excellent freeware chess program, good for beginner players
Sokoban GP2X -- an updated Windows version of the old classic with over 500 levels - freeware (Windows only). It's an update of the old warehouse game - move the crates to their proper places... but the crates can only be pushed. Requires puzzle solving abilities.
Another version is YASC (Yet Another Sokoban Clone), also made for Windows - and it includes a 'solver', in case you get stuck on any of the puzzles. For yet another solver, check out BoxSearch 6.

For Linux users, there's a version out there called "Xsokoban", available here.
CL_Mahjongg 2 -- a freeware mahjongg program, with various levels of difficulty and several different layouts. Very Nice.
