in her arms i got this feeling
that her love for me is leaving
lifting anchors and the dream goes out to sea
on the surface things are fine
but inside she says goodbye
the rhythm of a change is in her eyes

she's got a storm of love inside
i can feel the waves, the wind, the fire, she hides
but then she calls me david and the truth will find
i am deaf dumb and blind
to what's going on the truth will find
i am deaf dumb and blind
when a love's that strong the truth will find
i am deaf dumb and blind

it's a spanish day outside
i can see her leaving smile
the silence in my voice is hard to hide
in her mind she's writing notes
and putting sails upon her boat
sailing for the dream she's got of being free

she's got a storm of love inside
i can feel the waves, the wind, the fire, she hides
but then she calls me david and the truth will find
i am deaf dumb and blind
to what's going on the truth will find
i am deaf dumb and blind
when a love's that strong the truth will find
i am deaf dumb and blind

David Humphrey:  guitars, vocals & overdubs
Tom Hooker:  bass guitar

What I remember:   Late last night I was visited by poetry. Everything became symbolic. I guess I could sense what was about to happen.  Within a week she was gone and there was only me, a full moon and a book of Erica Jong poetry.

I recorded a twelve string guitar and a vocal. The "Hook" overdubbed the bass guitar. I mixed the 4 tracks to stereo and added some background vocals. The 4 track original sessions tape disappeared sometime ago, so you hearing the 1976 stereo mix with overdubbed strings (added in early 1980's)
