David Humphrey:
guitars, vocals & overdubs Roger Stephenson: bass guitar What I remember: This song was originally written and recorded in early 1974. The song was my simplistic view of music from the middle 1960's. "Sadness grows like a seed in the rain" along with a few chords and some harmony became a soundtrack for the curious. The song created a lot of interest and opened a few doors. I just wanted to be a songwriter not a recording artist. I kept hoping for someone to hear the song in it's full potential. I recorded a 12 string guitar
and two vocals. Roger overdubbed the bass guitar. These 4 tracks were
mixed to a stereo image. Two more tracks of vocals were tracks were
added and a final mix to stereo. I recorded several
versions of this song including a cut in Muscle Shoals, AL at Broadway Studio's but
this one had the best feel.
