we always use to meet at the same apartment suite 21 to be exact, friday's at seven o'clock the sheets would hold our souls till the morning came then the maid would come to change the bed we always sent her away can you hear me calling out your name from the half empty bed in suite 21 can you feel me when i touch in my dreams it's a lonely night here, in suite 21 i'm just an orphan of a love affair that ended yesterday and i haven't learned to live alone it really hurts to sing that song now i'm cleaning house here at suite 21 while trying to sweep your grip free i thought i felt you dreaming of me can you hear me calling out your name from the half empty room in suite 21 can you feel me when i touch in my dreams it's a lonely night here, in suite 21 |

David Humphrey:
guitars, vocals & overdubs Tom Hooker: bass guitar Brian Hewitt: drums Lee Prestwood: piano What I remember: I use to visit a couple in a apartment complex in Huntsville. They're relationship to me seemed very special. I couldn't believe it when I heard that it was over and Caroline moved out. Chris lived at apartment 21 till the lease ran out. On a cold January day I helped Chris move. Ever now and then I pass through Huntsville, and I see the apartment complex from I-565 and for a moment I remember them both and then "the half empty room of Suite 21". We recorded the guitar, bass, drums and piano in 2 tracks. Later I overdubbed the vocals. The original Teac 3340-4 track tape disappeared. This is the 1976 mix to stereo with overdubs.
