i came so close to dying total darkness was there in sight then the doctors told me i would make it if i took care of my precious life so while i laid there healing i felt the life i had taken on being wrapped in a world of numbers forgetting the best gift was my own now it's sweat peaceful days the earth is heaven form me this is the season for living each day is a gift received i never was so happy to see the old house in the country looked just like a mansion with it's garden scenery it was so good to sit at the table and smell the food cooking on the stove just the taste of a home cooked meal and laughing at a joke now it's sweat peaceful days the earth is heaven form me this is the season for living each day is a gift received i never thought i'd be so happy living here in these peaceful days the gift of life is the greatest if you walk it at a special pace i just don't no how else to tell you how much it means to be alive till you almost loose it do you wake up to realize |

David Humphrey:
guitar, vocals & overdubs Tom Hooker: bass guitar Brian Hewitt: drums What I remember: This song was the last one recorded in the "Death Trap Studio" (spring of 1976). At the time I was locked up in contracts that kept me from pitching this song and several others to Publishers, Recording Studio's etc. Briefly depression set in during 1976 trying to figure. This song was my answer to the simple things in life. The acoustic guitar, bass
& drums were recorded in stereo, I overdubbed the vocals and a few
piano notes. The
original Teac 3340 4 track tape vanished. The 1976 stereo mixdown took
on strings in the early 1980's at demo studio in Hixson, TN. |
