Greetings!
I believe in the value of education. I believe
that education changes lives, I believe we must always be focused
on what will have the greatest return for our students. This is why
I am seeking re-election.
For the last four years I have brought an analytical
approach to the Board, gathering information from all parties, considering
it carefully, and keeping in mind that there will always be more excellent
ideas than resources. The Board must be the voice of the community,
as it works to provide programs for all students.
I believe am a respectful and deliberate
Board Member. Research and preparation are important to me, as well
as strong financial analysis and working for long term success. Board
members' ideas and plans must be well thought out and we must lay
out clear reasoning for our decisions. I think I do this well.
We face significant challenges. Federal and State regulations
are complicated and may deem local decision making and sensible solutions
unlawful. Our resources will always be limited, The Livermore School
District must use them efficiently--from finances to personnel and community
educational partnerships. Education relies on good decision making,
good processes, good adjustments and good feedback on these processes.
We need to hire and retain the best teachers and administrators to rise
to these challenges.
I thank you for taking the time to read this, for doing your research
thoughtfully, for considering the issues and candidates, and making
an informed choice. There are many difficult decisions to be made in
the near future. We must not be afraid to tackle a problem because it
is difficult or large. Our children deserve this effort.
