Now our radiant floor system is
up and running, as is our water supply.

Below is the wood stove we heated the house with while under construction:


This is our 275 gallon wood stove.
The door is 3 separate sections:
Open the center section only for poking, etc.
Open the top 2, to insert logs up to 17" diameter.
Open all 3 to clean out ash, or to put really big stuff in.
Logs can be up to 4 feet long. I usually use 3 footers.
The oil burner in the bottom door is used to ignite the wood.
In about 20 minutes, the stove is putting out heat.


A blower pushes room air through four 3" pipes in the top most part
of the stove. The 4 pipes exit just above the door.
There is a moveable baffle above the fire that causes the
flue gasses to travel from the front to the back in the section
where the 4 pipes are. This creates a counter flow heat exchanger,
the most efficient type.
With a good fire going, and the blower on high, the air exits at 250 degrees F.
