1. Pebble May1 Fisk (16) (Robert, #2)1,2 was born on 4 Feb 1882 at Warrensburg Township, Johnson County, Missouri, She was born so small that a teacup would fit on her head. Her father named her Pebble because her eyes looked like pebbles. Her parents put her into a cigar box in the stove to keep her alive.3,4 She married Edmund Everett Flood (15), son of Henry Allen Flood (74) and Lizzie May Brackett (75), on 28 Jun 1906 at the Fisk Ranch, Rosalia, WA, That night, Pebble prepared strawberry shortcake for her husband. They lived first in Spangle, WA, then in Spokane where Ed was a banker.5,6,7 She died on 5 Apr 1971 at Long Beach, California, at age 89.8 She was buried in River View Cemetery, Spokane, WA.9

She grew up on her father's wheat farm and learned hard work.10 After her marriage to businessman Ed Flood, she enjoyed an affluent lifestyle and traveled with her husband to New York, Chicago and San Francisco. After the family's reversal of fortune, they lived in Seattle and Longview. Her father left her a portion of the family farm, but it was sold at a sheriff's sale after Ed's prosecution. Her sister Cornet bought the parcel and Pebble did not speak to her for twenty years. After her husband's death she lived for a time with her daughter Betty, then moved to California in about 1960 and spent her last years near Cornet.11
