Anatomy Of A Refinishing Job

Preparations for Finishing

Now that all the parts have been cleaned and sanded, and any repairs have been made, it's time to reassemble everything. Before I glue anything, I first dry fit the parts to be sure everything will fit back together right. After the piece is put back together, I inspect for and remove any glue squeeze-out that would show up during the finishing process. Now is also the time for any final sanding that may be necessary.

Everything ready to be reassembled

Here I had to make new solid mahogany panels to replace the main table top, shelf top, and back panel.
