Remove The Old Finish

 

Before stripping the old finish, I check the piece for damage and things that 

need repair or replacement. Using a semi paste, water-soluble stripper,

I remove the old finish. After the piece is stripped down to the bare

wood, I again look for problems that were hidden.

 

 

 

 

Table on the left has been stripped. Table on the right has not. The table on the left shows a stain in the veneer on the top shelf. The table on the right, had come apart and the front edge of the veneer on the table top was damaged.
