Before Shots

Here are some shots of what the dresser looked like when I first got it.

dresser_before1.jpg (22847 bytes) Front view
dresser_before2.jpg (30215 bytes) The veneer on this corner was broken and peeling. There were several other places where it was damaged or peeling too. The top gets its thick look from adding 3/4-inch strips, attached below the top edge of the front and ends. The veneer covered the joint, giving the illusion of a thicker top.
dresser_before3.jpg (27418 bytes) Here is the top web frame after removing the old top. Notice it is only nailed to the case. The old top was held by nine #10 X 1 1/4-inch wood screws through the underside of the web frame and three nails through the top into the rear member of the web frame.
mirror_before1.jpg (22817 bytes) Rear view of mirror frame assembly. Notice there is nothing present to protect the silver backing of this old beveled mirror.
mirror_before2.jpg (19830 bytes) Front view of mirror frame assembly.
