Nobody special. I'm just a regular guy trying to make a living for my family. I live in Mechanicsville, Virginia which is a growing rural county in the Richmond area. I have a beautiful wife, Sherri, and we have been married for 30 years. Our family consists of our two sons, Andy and Jereme, and one granddaughter. We live in a wonderful house that we built over eleven years ago.
I enjoy woodworking and have been designing and building furniture and cabinetry for over twenty-some years now. I also enjoy tinkering with computers and learning how to solve configuration problems that sometimes occur when upgrading to newer hardware. When I'm not in my woodworking shop, I'm usually at my computer messing with something. I've built quite a few computers from scratch, and performed many upgrades to the numerous computers we've owned as well as those of others.
I work the "graveyard" shift (11 pm to 7 am) at Philip Morris USA in Richmond and have been there for 28 years. This schedule allows me to still have time for my family and my interests so it's not as bad as some folks might think. You get used to sleeping during the day after a while! Before I went to work at PM, I spent 10 years with McDonald's, where I started as an hourly employee and worked my way through the ranks to become a store manager. In 1974 I attended and received a degree from McDonald's Hamburger University, a school for managers and owner/operators.
I consider myself to be self-taught at many of the skills I've tackled. Through the years I learned - to play the guitar (and played professionally), a very poor game of golf, to work with wood and computers solely by watching others, asking questions, and reading what I could. I thank God all the time for the many talents within me and I know it's by his hand that they are there.
