Moldings

There are a number of moldings that are used on this project. Three basic moldings include the base molding, the transition molding, and the two part cornice molding. Since these moldings are not readily available at my local lumber store, I must make my own. I prepared several pieces of rough 5/4 walnut by running them first on my jointer and then through my thickness planer. Next, I cut the pieces to width and set up my router table to begin the process of milling the various profiles needed for each molding. I used a number of different router bit profiles to achieve the desired results.
