Making The Side Panels

The chest sides are made from solid walnut stock. Because of their width, several narrower boards must be glued together to make the side panels. All of the stock had to be jointed on one edge and face before dimensioning to final thickness at the planer. After the side panels are made they must go through several more milling steps. These include cutting rabbets on the rear edges to receive the back panel and dovetail slots to receive the front drawer divider rails.
