Making The Top For The Single Chest

 


 

 

The single chest requires a top and this is where I depart from the plans. Since these two pieces of furniture will go together with the lingerie chest I built earlier, I decided to match the tops. I started with rough 5/4 walnut stock and dimensioned it to a 7/8 inch thickness. The four boards that would make up the top had to be glued up into a panel, and then cut to final size.
