Antique Cherry Tall Clock
Sand and Assemble
I used the old pediment as a template to fabricate a
new one. You can see the missing piece in the picture. The new pediment shown
here was first cut from a piece of walnut. After learning the clock was cherry,
I cut another from cherry.
After some detailed sanding, these parts are ready for assembly and finish.
I put a lot of work into removing all the nicks and
dings from the front piece of cove waist molding.
Here you can see the fine hand-cut dovetails in the
head section of the clock.
Finally, I was able to assemble the head unit and mount it on top of the case.
