Antique Cherry Tall Clock

Sand and Assemble

  New Pediment

I used the old pediment as a template to fabricate a new one. You can see the missing piece in the picture. The new pediment shown here was first cut from a piece of walnut. After learning the clock was cherry, I cut another from cherry.
Parts Cleaned and Sanded

After some detailed sanding, these parts are ready for assembly and finish.

After Sanding

I put a lot of work into removing all the nicks and dings from the front piece of cove waist molding.
Dovetail Joint

Here you can see the fine hand-cut dovetails in the head section of the clock.
Sanded and Assembled

Finally, I was able to assemble the head unit and mount it on top of the case.
