This country styled porch swing was build from red oak. Looking back now I realize white oak would have been a better choice of wood for an outdoor project. The seat is contoured for a comfortable fit. The heart shaped cut-outs in the backrest give it a "country" look. I've built another swing without the double curved backrest or the heart shaped cut-outs but based on the same frame construction. I used cypress for that swing.
