Workshop Tour

Here are some photos of my workshop. It's a 22 by 22 foot, two car garage that was planned as a woodworking shop before the house was built. I added 12 new 20 amp receptacles divided between 2 separate circuits along the east and south walls. Conduit was laid into the floor before the concrete slab was poured for power to the tablesaw and other equipment. The conduit carries separate 220 volt and 110 volt circuits to an outlet riser in the center of the shop floor.

I built a stationary workbench along the north and east walls. Part of this bench acts as extension tables for the radial arm saw on the north wall. Under this bench is storage space, a drawer unit that houses tools and project supplies, and a pull out shelf featuring full extension Accuride slides to handle the weight of the portable power tools kept there.

Trying to be thrifty and use what I had on hand, I built my router table using a damaged kitchen base cabinet we had replaced by the builder. I made the table top from a left over piece of counter top from the kitchen. I made a small drawer unit to fit in one side of the base cabinet. Router bits and accessories are stored there. I built the fence with a dust collection port and later added a taller face to it. The cabinet has casters on the base that allows it to be mobile.
