In October of 1999, I (Dave) gained my dry suit certification by taking two dives at Canoe Beach, in Nahant, MA.
This was quite a pretty site.
This day I learned that diving in a borrowed dry suit can be rather uncomfortable, as it isn't adjusted to fit you. In fact, it was like being strangled, and I was hoarse for several days. It might explain how comfortable I look in these photos. First, you get in the dry suit underwear, this is quite comfortable.
Then you suit up. The cap really adds something, doesn't it?

At this point I am really suffering, and
can't wait to get in the water.
Once I was underwater, I could mostly forget about the dry suit.
After certifying, I bought a custom dry suit, which is much more comfortable.
