About the Program
World renown experts in prostate cancer will provide a technical update on all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of localized and advanced disease. Topics of discussion will include Robotic Prostatectomy, Cryoablation, Brachytherapy, IMGT/IGRT, High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), Mapping Biopsy, Pathology Update, Noval Markers, Systemic Therapy and Nutricals.Target Audience
Urologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Physicists, and other health care professionals.Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Describe technical presentations and advances of robotic radical prostatectomy, image-guided external beam radiotherapy, computer-guided brachytherapy, cryoablation, and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) of the prostate. • Recognize the role of new prognostic agents in diagnosis and management of prostate cancer. • Describe the new techniques of real-time, dose moderated brachytherapy, robotic prostatectomy and HIFU. • Identify appropriate patients for brachytherapy IMRT-IGRT, robotic and open prostectomy, HIFU and salvage therapies. • Recognize potential benefits of chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced and hormone refractory prostate cancer. • Identify the role of bone health agents in advanced prostate cancer. • Explain the use of nutritional supplements (nutricals) in men with prostate cancer.
