About the Program
World renown experts in prostate cancer will provide update on all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of localized and advanced disease. Topics of discussion will include screening, mapping biopsies, robotic prostatectomy, cryoablation, brachytherapy, stereotactic radiation, HDR, pathology after chemoprevention, genetic risks of side effects, castrate resistant prostate cancer and new bone agents.

Target Audience
This course is intended for urologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, physicists, and other health care professionals. It will educate the registrants about advances in management of localized and advanced prostate cancer.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this program participants should be able to:

• Determine which prostate cancer patients might benefit from active surveillance rather than definitive treatment.
• Discuss the role of hormonal and micronutrient manipulation in preventing prostate cancer.
• ?Describe technical advances, including robotic radical prostatectomy; image guided external beam radiotherapy, hypofractionated radiotherapy, computer-guided brachytherapy and cryoablation related to the treatment of prostate cancer.
• Interpret the role of new prognostic agents in diagnosis and management of prostate cancer.
• Describe the new techniques; including mapping biopsy, focal therapy, dose moderated brachytherapy, and robotic prostatectomy.
• Identify appropriate patients for procedures such as, brachytherapy IMRT/IGRT, robotic and open prostatectomy, focal therapy and cryoablation.
• Recognize potential benefits of chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced and hormone refractory prostate cancer.
• Describe the role of bone health agents in advanced prostate cancer.
•

Describe new hormonal agents in castrate resistant disease.
