Recognized
as one of the top resorts in North America, Camelback Inn first
opened in 1936. Founder Jack Stewart realized his dream of offering
friendly, personalized service and well-furnished surroundings
to travelers looking for the best in desert dining and recreation.
In 1967, J.W. Marriott, Jr., purchased the resort from its founder.
Marriott expanded on Stewarts original idea and today
it is the only Arizona resort to hold both the Mobile Five Star
and AAA Five Diamond Awards. Today Camelback Inn holds the AAA
Five Diamond Award plus a long list of top industy honors recognizing
the ultimate standard for meetings.
The
Camelback Golf Club promises an exceptional golf experience
at the 18-hole Arthur Hills-designed Resort course, a classic
layout in a parkland settng of rolling terrain with an abundance
of bunkers. The Club Course adds another 18-hole challenge marked
by secluded sand traps and tree-lined fairways. If you prefer
to swing racquets instead of clubs you will find five lighted
for evening play. The 125-acre resort grounds also holds three
pools.
The
newly renovated 32,000-square-foot spa combines fitness, fun,
and pampering, the Spa at Camelback Inn provides a variety of
massages, facials and body care services. The spa also features
a full-service gym, a 25-meter lap pool and a Spa Salon, as
well as the spa's restaurant Sprouts.
