What is our League's Profile?

The Winter 2007 league presently consists of 12 teams, 35 bowlers, and 1 Vacancy. The goal is to grow the league to 14 teams by the end of the Winter. Many of the bowlers on the league are Beginner bowlers with less than 1 year experience. The League's handicap system, which will be voted upon at the Organizational Meeting, levels the field such that new bowlers have an advantage over the more experienced bowlers.

Both the Fall (DCTP) and Winter (DCTP II) Leagues are sanctioned through the United States Bowling Conference (USBC), International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO), and Capital Area Rainbowlers Association (CARA). DCTP II was the 2006 CARA Champions by winning the Annual End of Season Tournament during its inaugural season.

This is a non-competitive league geared towards individuals who simply want to bowl and have fun. The league has nearly doubled in size from its inception in Fall, 2005. In addition to placing emphasis on having fun with our bowling, the Leagues celebrates birthdays, has a potluck, and often gets together on weekends for dinners and movies.

Information and reference materials are provided to all members on a weekly basis to encourage participation in inter-league, local, national and international events.

When does the Fall League start?

The Fall League is a sixteen (16) week, Mixed Adult league that begins the first Tuesday in September.  This year, Dale City Tuesday Pride starts on Tuesday, September 1st and will finish on Tuesday, December 15th.  The league always begins practice at 8:00pm, and league play starts promptly at 8:10pm.  Dale City Tuesday Pride is a 2 person team format, and presently we're under contract for 12 teams.  There is plenty of room for the league to grow, and our goal is to have 14 teams this Fall Season.  Individual and Team Vacancies are available - so bring a friend or two along and have fun with us!

The Fall League's Organizational Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th.  The meeting will be held at AMF Dale City's meeting room, and starts at 8:00pm.  During the Organizational Meeting, League Officers will be elected, and members can present changes to the Bylaws for League consideration.  Other business that is taken care of during the Organizational Meeting includes signing up new Members, verifying information on returning bowlers, establishing League dues, and finalizing team rosters.  You do not need to be present at the Organizational Meeting to bowl in the Fall League, but it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED that returning members and new bowlers attend.

When does the Winter League operate?

Traditionally, the Dale City Tuesday Pride II Winter League is a separate sixteen (16) week, Mixed Adult league that begins the third Tuesday in January.

Dale City Tuesday Pride II will have its Organizational Meeting on January 12th, the league will start on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 and the league will finish on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 (16 weeks).  Like the Fall League, Dale City Tuesday Pride II begins practice at 8:00pm, and league play starts promptly at 8:10pm.  DCTP II may also be a 2 person team format, which is based on the number of bowlers in the League.  Most of the teams from the Fall League return for the DCTP II, but on occasion both Individual and Team Vacancies become available.  We've got plenty of room to grow, so bring a friend along and we can bowl those Winter blues away!

The Winter League's Organizational Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 12, 2010.  The meeting will be held at AMF Dale City's meeting room, and starts at 8:00pm.  During the Organizational Meeting, members can present changes to the Bylaws for League consideration.  Other business that is taken care of during the Organizational Meeting includes signing up new Members, verifying information on returning bowlers, establishing League dues, and finalizing team rosters.

What is the Dale City Summer Pride League?

The Dale City Summer Pride League is an affiliate of the Dale City Tuesday Pride and Dale City Tuesday Pride II leagues.  It's a 10 week long, mixed Adult, 2-person team format.  Dale City Summer Pride begins the first Tuesday in June and ends in mid-August.  The league takes the first Tuesday in July off as many bowlers head out of town for the 4th of July holiday.

The Organizational Meeting is the last Tuesday in May (i.e., day after Memorial Day).  Like the Fall & Winter Leagues, the purpose of this meeting is to elect League Officers, ratify Bylaws, sign up members, establish team rosters, and establish League fees.  If anyone is interested in coordinating and operating (i.e., serving as League Officers) the DCSP 2009 league, please contact John @ dctp@comcast.net for information.  Without League Officers, the DCSP '09 league will be cancelled.
